What is BIPOC Therapy and how can dance/movement therapy help?

BIPOC therapy is a specialized mental health approach designed for Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) groups, acknowledging the unique impact of cultural, historical, and systemic issues on mental health.

 The goal of BIPOC therapy is to establish a safe and culturally sensitive environment where individuals can address mental health challenges, heal from trauma, and navigate the complexities of their lived experiences.  

  Dance/movement therapy complements BIPOC therapy by providing a unique avenue for individuals to express and process emotions, explore their identities authentically, and promote empowerment and resilience within the cultural context.
